Introducing the ChronoTrack B-Tag™
Since
the introduction of transponder timing, the running world has been
waiting for the ability to reliably time runners using a timing device
mounted on the bib.
Over the last year, runners and race directors alike have come to rely
on the ChronoTrack Systems disposable D-Tag to time their races with
convenience and ease, thanks to the revolutionary RFID
technology.ChronoTrack engineers, having continued their pioneering
work in UHF timing systems, are pleased to announce the arrival of the
most anticipated technology in race timing history: the B-Tag.
|
- No added hassle for athletes
- Reduced potential for human error
- Easy to distribute
- No post-race collection
- Recyclable
- Landfill safe

The
ChronoTrack B-Tag is a disposable UHF RFID tag that stays mounted on
the runner’s bib. Requiring no additional application by the athlete,
nor any additional instructional support from race directors, the B-Tag
has been specially engineered to remain compatible with all existing
ChronoTrack Systems equipment, including timing lines, software, and
tag printers. In keeping with ChronoTrack tradition, B-Tags are
recyclable or landfill safe, and they do not require post-race
collection. Never pay lost timing device fees again!
ChronoTrack
has successfully tested this new tag at numerous races throughout 2009.
Pricing and availability will be posted soon. ChronoTrack will demo the
B-Tag and other new cutting-edge technologies at their annual Users
Conference in January 2010. For more information, continue to visit our

ChronoTrack Used To Time the 2009 New York City Marathon
ChronoTrack
Systems, the official timing equipment provider to the New York City
Marathon (NYCM), announced that the record-breaking 40th running of the
New York City Marathon, which took place on November 1st, 2009, was a
resounding success.
The
New York Road Runners (NYRR) partnering with 30 of ChronoTrack’s
certified timers set out 34 separate timing lines and timed time
more than 43,000 runners – this was more timing points than any other
race in history! This year’s NYCM boasted other historic landmarks
including the most marathon participants (43,741), the most finishers
(43,475), and the most participant times ever recorded in a single
event(1,038,460).
According to NYRR VP of Administration and Operations Ken Winell, “I’d have to say we hit it out of the park.” He adds that technologically, “it actually was the smoothest marathon we’ve had in [years].”
